At SWAG – Strong Women and Guns at AVGC, you’ll discover the power and confidence that comes with owning and using a gun.
Our purpose is to provide a welcoming atmosphere for all who want to practice and refresh your fundamentals, grow in your knowledge and education of firearms with training on the Range. You will have the opportunity to work with Expert and Certified Instructors.
If you are new to firearms, or just looking to re-acclimate yourself with shooting, check out one of our firearms courses first. The NRA Basics of Pistol Class or our Members Only Novice Shooter Class are two great opportunities to work one-on-one with certified NRA Firearms Instructors.

Acceptable Attire
AVGC requires closed toed shoes and high collared shirts. No open tops, scoop neck tops or tank tops.

SWAG is held on the third Thursday of each month except December.
We meet on the Pistol Range at P-1 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. You MUST be at the Range Safety Briefing or you will not be permitted to shoot.

What to Bring
Bring your own firearm, 200 rounds of ammunition (No Steel or Reloads), eye & ear protection (electronic ear pro preferred)
Please transport your firearm in a locked case/container in compliance with CA law.
You may bring your equipment from your vehicle to the shooting bench in a locked container.
DO NOT UN-CASE YOUR FIREARM UNTIL GIVEN PERMISSION !!!
All AVGC firearms training classes and matches are open to the public.
The gate will be unlocked and open when you arrive and will be locked shortly after the event or class starts.
Please arrive on time or early.
