The Apple Valley Gun Club hosts the California Department of Fish and Game Hunter Education Program. Classes are scheduled monthly, normally on the third Saturday of each month. For more information, download our latest flier here: AVGC Hunter ED This course is an internet supported, four hour class. In order to register, contact the instructors on the flier, then take the course prework at: http://homestudy.ihea.com/ The internet precourse is free. The instructors will also meet with you prior to the class to give you a Today's Hunter in California workbook and some other study materials. Once you have completed the prework course, download your test results, complete your workbook, and attend our next four hour test session. The test session is free of charge. Also, contact the instructors for upcoming Department of Fish and Game Advanced Clinics.

National Wild Turkey Federation (California Chapters)
The Apple Valley Gun Club also hosts events to help you learn about the safe and responsible handling of firearms. On June 26th, 2010, we are once again hosted the National Wild Turkey Federation's "Women in the Outdoors" event. This event provides hands-on instruction on firearms and archery equiment, wilderness survival, first aid and many other subjects appropriate to those who are venturing in to the outdoors. It is designed specifically for women and girls with little outdoor experience. We host Women in the Outdoors at least once a year. Keep an eye on the calendars for the next event. And again, on September 25th, 2010, we will host the NRA's "Women on Target Program." This event is open to 75 girls and women who want to get hands on training with firearms and archery equipment.
